Miller Bros. Const., Inc., is more than a company with a family name. We’re a family-owned business with a commitment to integrity, safety and innovation. We take pride in our workmanship, as well as the legacy we leave behind.
In 1945, brothers Dale and Floyd Miller began their small, Northwest Ohio-based excavating firm. As time went on, a strong work ethic and dedicated employees helped MBC expand from a local company to a regional one. Today, under the third generation of family leadership, MBC is licensed in twelve states and the list is growing.
When it comes down to it, you work with people, and Miller Bros. Const., Inc., has some of the best. From leadership and management to the crew on the ground at every site, we have a highly-trained team that’s committed to doing things right.
With over 600 pieces of operated equipment, MBC has the resources to successfully complete nearly any project. We have a nationally-recognized safety program, bonding capacity in excess of $225 million and excellent financial strength. Most importantly, we have a portfolio full of successful projects.

Our History
The Founders: Dale & Floyd Miller
Brothers Dale and Floyd Miller started out in 1945, digging ditches on weekends and evenings. The jobs they fit into their spare time soon turned full-time work building interstates. With the help of an expanded team, the company grew from a local company to a regional one, taking on various earthwork and drainage-related projects.
Our founders’ drive and initiative is commemorated with a plaque near the entrance of the MBC’s headquarters that reads, “Wherever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.”
Second Generation: Dean & Bob Miller
Dean and Bob Miller, sons of the founders, eventually rose to leadership roles. The pair continued to focus on company growth, diversifying company operations and further expanding MBC’s reach. While the heart of the company continued to reside in highway projects and civil site work, Dean & Bob expanded operations to include coal mining in Kentucky and West Virginia.
Third Generation & Beyond
While much has changed at MBC, one thing remains consistent: family leadership. Bradley Miller, son of Dean Miller and grandson of Dale Miller, is now company president, leading a team that shares the family’s commitment to its core values.
Growth, both in service offerings and geographical footprint, continues to be a priority for those at the helm. However, that growth won’t come without a skilled workforce, which is why we are proud to be a founding member of the I Build America movement.
From interactive field trips that allow children to test out equipment and safety gear, to pathways that help employees advance through the company, Miller Bros. Const. Inc. remains committed to people. That means investing in the next generation of construction professionals now and helping current employees grow, learn and expand their skills.
